The 7026 Model H10, an RS/6000 rack-mounted server, is a one-way or two-way
symmetric multiprocessor (SMP) system for workgroup or entry enterprise
server environments. It is an excellent choice for LAN consolidation environments.
The Model H10 is the lowest-priced rack drawer in the RS/6000 product
family and can be configured with additional H10 drawers, other server
drawers, and shared subsystem using HACMP software to provide the same
high availability and reliability found in much higher-priced systems.
The Model H10 is available in one-way or two-way PowerPC* 604e SMP configurations.
It comes standard with a single 166MHz processor which can be upgraded
with a second processor or with optional 233MHz processor cards. The base
configuration includes 64MB of memory, an I/O board with nine adapter
slots and three integrated adapters, four media bays, twelve hot swap
disk bays, an 8X CD-ROM drive (mounted in a media bay), and a 2.2GB hot
swap disk drive. And the Model H10 supports a built-in service processor
for improved availability and serviceability.
IBM's RS/6000 workgroup servers provide application power and modular
design at highly competitive prices. Fast processing, interoperability
and outstanding performance capability make them great choices for both
stand-alone or networked environments. They are also very well suited
for application and database processing. The RS/6000 workgroup servers
provide attachability for commonly used components such as adapters, disk
drives, and media devices. This can help avoid cluttering your work area
with more expensive, external peripherals.
By providing I/O slots that support both PCI and ISA buses, these servers
offer superior performance at affordable prices. They can participate
in most currently installed UNIX** and PC networks. Using AIX* Version
4 with these systems provides many exciting computing opportunities. In
fact, you can use these robust servers in place of PC servers while maintaining
binary compatibility with the majority of the thousands of existing AIX
applications running on RS/6000 systems.
