The IBM InfoWindow* II 3153 ASCII Display Station is an ASCII/ANSI/PC (Green, Amber, or White monochrome) Display Station that attaches IBM and non-IBM systems supporting attachment of ASCII displays. IBM systems include: the RS/6000* via a multiport asynchronous communications adapter; a PC system via an asynchronous communications adapter; and the ES/9000* family of products attached via 3174 Establishment Controller Asynchronous Emulation Adapter (AEA). The 3153 offers ASCII/ANSI/PC emulations used by the most popular software packages. The 3153 feature WYSE** WY-60**, WY-50/50+, DEC** VT-300/200/100**, SCO** Console, AT386, ADDS** Viewpoint**, TeleVideo** TVI-925**, and PC-Term emulations.

The IBM 3153 InfoWindow II ASCII Display Model BW3 has an white monitor, RS232 main communications port interface, IBM 3151 emulation, and a 3-year warranty. In addition, the 3153 attaches to the AS/400* via an ASCII workstation controller (supported as an AS/400 system console for OS/400 V3R1 or higher when configured for IBM 3151 emulation) and IBM Retail Store Systems (IBM 4690) using 4690 Operating System, (5696-538), at level 9560 or later for US or UK English, and at level 9570 or later for National Language translated countries, and is attached via a 4690 supported store Controller and Realtime Interface Co-processor adapter.

The 3153 is designed for the wide variety of multiuser operating systems which include: AIX*, SCO** Xenix**, Unix**, PICK** and multi- user DOS.

The 3153 main serial port communicates via RS-232C up to speeds of 134.4 Kbps. A second auxiliary serial port, RS-232C up to speeds of 38.4 Kbps, allows attachment of a serial printer or can be used for host attachment (dual session by dual port). The 3153 also includes a parallel printer port.
