Highlights IBM 7210-010
- The IBM 7210 External CD-ROM drive Model 10 is a member of the IBM
StorageSmart* family of products. It is a self-powered CD-ROM drive
for use on any RS/6000 system that supports the attachment of external
SCSI devices. It not only runs at quad speed (600 KB/sec), but it also
supports multisession media including Kodak Photo CD discs. For customers
who use CD-ROM media for distribution of software and data, the new
Model 010 supports 600 MB of storage capacity. It also runs at almost
twice the data transfer rate of the current Model 005. In addition,
it offers the convenience of tray loading rather than requiring the
use of a caddy. The typical random access time of the Model 010 is 200
Msec. Reliable and affordable 8x CD-ROM drive

Highlights IBM 7210-015
The 7210 Model 015 is a state-of-the-art 8x, tray loading, CD-ROM drive
designed to provide a low-cost, high performance solution for accessing
information currently stored on industry-standard CD-ROM media. The IBM
7210 Model 015 is a new member of the IBM StorageSmart family of products.
This external-powered read-only CD-ROM drive is for use on any RS/6000
system
Enhanced performance is delivered through a reduction in the typical
access time and by doubling the average data rate; from 600KB per second
with the previous Model 010 to 1.2MB per second with the Model 015.
- Compatibility is provided with the Model 015's downward support of
2x and 4x CD-ROM disks in addition to 8x CD-ROM disks. CD WORM disks,
created in either single or multi-session by CD-R devices, can also
be read by this new CD-ROM drive. One 8x IBM 7210 Model 015 can meet
all of these requirements. Reliable and affordable 8x CD-ROM drive

Highlights IBM 7210-020
The 7210 Model 020 is a high-performance CD-ROM drive from IBM's StorageSmart
family of products. The Model 020 features reduced access time and four
times the average data rate of previous models. Software, technical manuals,
updates, images, and other vital material on CD-ROM can be accessed quickly
and efficiently.
The Model 020 supports synchronous and asynchronous modes, accommodates
both 12 cm and 8 cm disks, and can read CD-ROM disks created in either
single-or multi-session by CD-R devices. Its downward compatibility and
low cost protect your investment.
- Reliable and affordable 14X-32X variable speed CD-ROM drive
- Improved performance with 5.1MB/sec data rate - four times the rate
