| The IBM Infoprint 2000 is a high-end, 110 page-per-minute,
cut-sheet publishing system.
The IBM 2710-DP1 is aimed at the data center environment where IPDS
or the Xerox native datastream (LCDS/Metacode) is the predominant production
datastream.

stapler, stitcher, and Bookletmaker
- Support for a wide selection of paper weights and sizes
- The ability to process content rich pages, including statements with
logos, business graphics, and signatures using the features of Advanced
Function Printing (AFP)
The Infoprint 2000 production publishing system is a high quality high
speed cut sheet printing system. All models of the Infoprint 2000 with
the network printer capability can be front-ended by Infoprint Manager
or can be integrated into an existing Infoprint Manager (Version 3.1 at
the appropriate service level) environment. In addition to the three base
models of the Infoprint 2000, there are Printer Solution Offerings (PSOs)
available for the RP1 and DP1 models. A PSO is a prepackaging of several
features bundled together for a specific application and offers a more
price-competitive solution. The models and their associated PSOs are:
- 1. Model RP1 Reprographics Publisher is a high speed multifunctional
digital duplicator with upgradable features to include network connectivity
and is aimed at the corporate reprographics centers, in-plant print
shops and the print for pay market. The RP1 base model comes standard
with:
- A 110 PPM print engine with 600 DPI print quality
- 512 MB of memory standard for storing digital images.
- Paper input module with 3 drawers and 4,000 sheet capacity
- A finisher with stapler with a capacity of 3,000 sheets
- System Control Subsystem (SCS)
- Scan station (requires a Scan Station Controller)
- A modem for remote diagnostics
- An operator attention light
RP1 PSOs: Each initial order for an RP1 must include one of two available
PSOs. They are:
- Standalone Duplicator Solution (#4210).
The Standalone Digital Duplicator Solution is intended for reprographics
centers and print shop applications. This feature includes all microcode
needed for the Standalone Digital Duplicator application.
- Network Publisher Solution (#4220).
The Network Publisher Solution is intended for corporate reprographics
centers where an attachment to the corporate network is required. This
feature includes all microcode for duplicator printer functions, and
also includes the LAN connect capability .
- Model DP1 Datacenter Publisher is a high speed cut sheet production
publisher aimed at the data center environment where IPDS or Xerox native
data stream (LCDS/Metacode) is the predominant production datastream.
The DP1 base model comes standard with:
- A 110 PPM print engine with 600 DPI print quality
- Paper input module with 3 drawers and 4,000 sheet capacity
- A finisher with stapler with a capacity of 3,000 sheets
- A choice of LCDS/Metacode or IPDS datastream support
- A modem for remote diagnostics
- An operator attention light
DP1 PSOs: Model DP1 has five PSOs associated with it, one of which must
be included with the initial order. Those five are:
- Xerox Datastream Solution (feature #4230) - Selected to channel connect
your Infoprint 2000 to a host system using Xerox datastreams. This PSO
is intended for corporate data center applications and includes a System
Control Subsystem (SCS), 512 MB memory, network connectivity, channel
connectivity hardware, Xerox Native Datastream (LCDS/Metacode) enablement
and all microcode needed for a network printer and data center application.
- Xerox Datastream Solution - TCP/IP and RJE (1st printer only) (feature
#4233) - Selected to connect to a host system via TCP/IP or RJE using
Xerox datastreams.
- Xerox Datastream Solution - Channel, TCP/IP or RJE attach (2nd to
6th printer(feature #4232) - As shown in the table below, this PSO is
designed to provide a lower cost solution for printers two through six
attached to the same host via channel, TCP/IP or RJE.
